If you’re getting an error message Cannot Access Lifeblog Database on your Nokia phone preventing you from launching Lifeblog then you need to delete the database. This is how:
Download the free Y-Browser application from here. (You’ll need this, rather than the File Manager that comes with the Nokia phone, because the Data folder is hidden and won’t appear in File Manager.)
Install it on your phone via your Nokia PC Suite.
Launch the YBrowser application (probably from new folder called DrJukka.com):
Locate the C: drive and open it:
Locate the Data folder:
Locate the Lifeblog folder:
Select Options, File and then Delete
Once the folder is deleted launch Lifeblog and select Update Timeline.
Thanks to the Nokia forum and Darla Mack for some of these details.

Thanks for this! Saved my life
When I open Lifeblog in my n73, it shows ‘Cannot Access Database’.I tried to synchronize the data on my pc. It showed the same msg on my phone. I deleted the the lifeblog files from my mobile but that didn’t work…
thanks man…ur great…
When I try to delete the file, I get a message to say the file is in use and it remains undeleted.
I had same problem! Rename the lifeblog file. I renamed it “lifeblog old”. I switched my phone off, and it then creates a new lifeblog directory and you can then delete the “lifeblog old”. Go into Lifeblog and update timeline and all should be working!
I deleted my old lifeblog file and now I cant find any of my phones pictures or music.Could somebody please help me and tell me what tp do and why this happened? Please help!
so nice.
I also got a message saying that “the file is in use”
so I can’t delete it. but I checked the content of the lifeblog folder before and after deleting.
I noticed that the content changed (from about 7 folders, it became 2 folders after deleting).
I guess this means that some of the folders were deleted but the remaining 2 folders were in use so I couldn’t deleted that. I tried deleting several times. but I get the same error.
I just gave up and tried synchonizing again.
And I’m glad it worked
I’m using Nokia N95 btw.
I hope this will help those who encountered a similar problem.
To the blog author: THANK YOU VERY MUCH
This is a great help. I’m already in the middle of sychronizing.
Good luck to others!
